Big News: My First Children’s Book is Being Published!

Some dreams take years to unfold. Others arrive like a gentle wind — unexpected, undeniable, and carrying whispers of something greater.

That’s how The Wind & His Word came to be.

This book, my very first published work, was inspired by conversations in our home about life’s harder seasons: the ones where change feels relentless, and the unknown feels vast.

I wrote The Wind & His Word almost as quickly as the idea arrived. The words poured out, and within weeks, I had a complete manuscript. I refined it, played with different rhyming schemes, and crafted it into something lyrical and poetic — something that felt just right. And then, I did something I hadn’t planned on doing… I submitted it.

Getting the News

I had braced myself for rejection. Every writer has heard the stories: years of submissions, countless “no”s; or worse, silence. I fully expected that would be my experience too.

But then, Morgan James Publishing, the only publisher I submitted to, said YES!

As an added blessing, Drew was sitting next to me when I got the call, so he got to hear the news right along with me. A week earlier, I’d told him, my mom, and my ladies’ bible study group that I had submitted, and I didn’t anticipate following up so soon — especially with an update that it had been accepted!

About The Wind & His Word

This book follows a young girl named Ruby through the changing seasons. As the world around her shifts — spring’s hope, summer’s joy, autumn’s change, and winter’s peace — she discovers something steady and unchanging: God’s presence.

It’s a story of wonder, faith, and the beauty of nature. It’s for children, for parents, for anyone who’s ever needed a reminder that no matter what season we find ourselves in, God is there.

What Happens Next

As of now, I don’t have a release date, but the next steps are already in motion. I’ll be working closely with a Dedicated Project Manager to bring this book to life — discussing marketing, branding, design elements, and illustration. (Speaking of illustrations, finding an illustrator has been one of the most challenging parts so far!)

Of course, I’ll be sharing updates along the way.

And, I can’t do this successfully without you! Here’s how you can help:

  • Preorder the book when it becomes available — this makes a huge impact!

  • Follow along on social media for updates.

  • Subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss announcements.

A Full-Circle Moment

This milestone is deeply personal. I have been writing for as long as I can remember, always using words to process the world around me. And now, I get to see those words become a book — a real, hold-it-in-your-hands, read-it-to-your-kids book!

As a mom, I love that my daughter gets to see this unfold; to see that dreams really can come true when you work hard, stay humble, and trust in God’s timing.

And ultimately, that’s what this journey has been about: faith.

I never imagined I’d submit a book, much less have it accepted. But one night in ladies’ bible study, we were talking about how God meets us in every season, and that very night I had finished writing The Wind & His Word in my car before our meeting. I felt called to share what I’d wrote, and their encouragement led me to submit it.

I pray this book glorifies Him and that it speaks to those who need it most. Thank you for being here, for celebrating with me, and for walking alongside me in this new season.

More updates soon!
