Have you ever wondered if the wind could talk?
So does Ruby!
A book landing page for little readers, and their parents…
The Wind & His Word
Illustrated by Cailey Knight
Written by Nikki Foster (me!)
This faith-based picture book follows a young girl named Ruby as she listens closely to the world around her.
When the wind carries the scent of honeysuckle or the rustle of leaves, she begins to wonder…
Could it be carrying messages from God?
Told in lyrical prose and with gentle imagery, this story invites children to slow down, listen, and feel God’s presence in the everyday.
Ruby’s World
Ruby is 5 years old and full of wonder. She lives on a little farm where the wind always has something to say — if you only listen close enough. She has sunshine in her hair, dirt under her fingernails, and a hundred questions in her heart.
-
I Spy… especially when played from her mama’s lap on the back porch. Ruby is an expert at spotting critter-shaped clouds, butterflies on zinnias, and shadows dancing on the grass.
-
Summer! Ruby loves the way the sun hangs long in the sky, and how garden tomatoes taste warm off the vine. She adores the hum of cicadas, the drip of an ice cream cone, and the way the wind tickles her knees in a sundress.

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.” - John 3:8
